The word Terra comes from the Latin “terra” (earth), which is one of the oldest words in Latin and has Indo-European roots. The word Nova comes from the Latin word “novus,” which means “new” or “fresh”. Terra Nova represents new opportunities, new beginnings, the opening of new chapters in our lives. It means innovation, positive change, progress. It evokes images of adventure and exploration in unknown and mysterious territories. In short, it is the perfect representation our University’s mission.
